The Vagina Monologues – Mates Theatre Genesis Inc.
February 14 @ 7:30 pm - February 15 @ 9:30 pm$20
Mates Theatre Genesis Inc. (known affectionately as MATES) will join the international “V-day” campaign raising awareness of women’s issues. MATES will present three performances of “The Vagina Monologues” on February 14 and 15.
Created by Eve Ensler, “The Vagina Monologues” premiered in New York in 1996 as a collection of readings celebrating what it is to be a woman. With humour and grace, the readings explore women’s sexuality, strength and diversity. The award winning play was based on interviews with over 200 women, and spawned the birth of “V-Day”, a global activist campaign to end violence towards women and girls. Readings are updated each year, and performances of “The Vagina Monologues” around the globe, raise funds for the vulnerable in the community.
MATES are proud to provide a platform for women of the Redlands to lend their voice to the international campaign. Proceeds will be donated to the Redlands Centre for Women Inc. who’s charter is to empower, educate and connect women.
